Tiger Woods (T1) and Jim Furyk (T1) are the last pair to tee-off today at Round 3 of the 112th edition of the U.S. Open.
They will start the course at approximately 3:05 p.m. PST after John Peterson (T4) and David Toms (T1) take their first stroke at 2:55 p.m. in San Francisco's Olympic Club
Woods, Furyk and Toms are all -1 into the 3rd round and will be out to hunt some birdies and ward off bogeys while working hard to keep their game and focus together--a difficult task under such intimidating course.
M. Thompson, who finished 1st during the first round, is still a contender for the title.
Thompson ended Day 1 with 66 strokes, the best score so far for a single day in the tournament, and is currently +1 into the 3rd Round.
Notable players that missed the 3rd round cut include last year's U.S. Open champion, Rory McIlroy and this year's Masters Champion, Bubba Watson. McIlroy was +10 by the end of Round 2 while Watson finished +9.
Like people saw in Round 2, expect a huge crowd to follow Tiger on the course. Tiger will be seeking to earn his 15th overall major win, his first since 2008. Only Jack Nicklaus has more major wins than Tiger with 18.
