Popular Latina actress Ximena Naverrate has finally addressed the numerous rumors about her following the announcement that she will be working alongside Cuban star William Levy in the upcoming telenovela, "La Tempestad."
The 25-year-old Mexican ex-Miss Universe will star in Televisa's new television venture and star alongside 32-year-old actor William Levy as the star's love interest. "I am very concentrated in what I have to do and I focus on that because (my role) is a huge responsibility," she said in a press conference. "It is enough with all of that to even allow myself to think what people will say or make up. I know who I am and what I want."
Many romances have begun on the sets of play productions or films, so it is fair to think that the same might happen in a Latino soap opera. Nevertheless, the 25-year-old sustains that she is in a committed relationship with her boyfriend, Puerto Rican model and host Jaime Mayol.
"It is (a very difficult situation) because you are working all the time with just one person or group of people," she said. "I have never been in that situation but what I can tell you is that I am a very respectful woman in that aspect and I look to give the best of me to my role, besides from that nothing else interests me."
The former Miss Universe also confirmed that from this telenovela audiences will get everything they expect. "There are scenes about everything, as it happens with every melodrama," she said. "It will be very interesting."
Navarrete joked, "Make sure you guys tell William the same, that he will also be envied because I will be next to him."
"La Tempestad" is produced by Salvador Mejía Alejandre and is rumored to start in May of this year.
