"The Amazing Spider-Man 2" is currently filming, but it seems that casting is still underway.
According to a number of reports, Chris Cooper has been signed to play Norman Osborn in the upcoming "Spider-Man" movie. The character was mentioned at several points in the reboot film, but there was never any indication of whether he would appear in the movie. Dane DeHaan was also recently signed to play Peter Parker's best friend Harry Osborn in the sequel.
There is no information on how big the role of Osborn will be, but based on the late casting and the inclusion of two other villains, it is likely that this character plays a minor role in the movie. Of course that does not mean that "Spider-Man" fans will not get a chance to see the Greeen Goblin in action in this movie.
The role was previously played by Willem Dafoe in the 2002 "Spiderman." The sequel already features Jamie Foxx as the main villain Electro and Paul Giamatti as the Rhino. The film will also feature Shailene Woodley as Mary Jane Watson.
"The Amazing Spider-Man" grossed $262 million in domestic intake during the summer of 2012 and added $490 million in international revenue. The current series is being helmed by Mark Webb.
