When Wrestlemania 29 takes place in New Jersey in five weeks, Jack Swagger and Alberto Del Rio will likely face each other for the WWE World Heavyweight championship. When the dust settles, neither man could be raising his hand in victory on April 7th.
The self-proclaimed showoff Dolph Ziggler could upset both superstars. Just as it seemed like C.M. Punk's championship went on forever, it's hard to believe that it's been over seven months since Ziggler took out Damien Sandow, Tyson Kidd, Christian (Remember him), Santino Marella, Tensai, Cody Rhodes and Sin Cara for a right to hold the briefcase that looks like it was made by 2nd graders.
A lot's taken place since then. No longer is he part of Vickie's inner circle. Instead, he's seen playing weekly tonsil hockey with the beautiful A.J. Lee and now guarded by the musclebound Big E. Langston. That briefcase has led to the championship being around it's recipients waist with one key exception: John Cena.
With a possible Undertaker vs. Punk equaling or even overshadowing the Rock vs. Cena match, will the WWE let Ziggler be the opportunist he is and steal the belt while Swagger or Del Rio are in a weak moment? Ziggler's teased using the belt at every PPV since he won the match. His near attempts to cash in have been funny at times and frustrating at others.
With the resurgence of Swagger, boosted by the Tea Party angle (that's gotten national attention) allow for Ziggler to upstage him? Also, after investing so much in the recent Alberto Del Rio face turn, isnt it best to allow Del Rio to build some heat? After all, he's only had the belt since January 27th.
Ziggler's supposed to have a year to cash in the suitcase, but is WWE brave enough to not let it happen on the biggest stage of the year? Will they instead give him more time and perhaps wait until "Extreme Rules" in May? A win at Wrestlemania would allow Dolph to finally become his own man without needing to lean on Vickie, AJ or Big E. Langston. He could provide a Wrestlemania moment that Ziggler fans have been waiting for or it could be a missed opportunity for a star whose time has come.
