A young pretty girl, assistant to a rich and famous actress is accused of poisoning the actress's son, mother, maid and the actress herself. The assistant is sent to jail with for an eight year sentence, leaving her and her family's lives in shambles.
This sounds like a story straight out of a soap opera right? Well you might be surprised to learn that this story is the real nightmare of Maria Celeste Fernandez, ex-assistant to the Venezuelan actress Gabriela Spanic.
Eventually the bad dream turns into a Disney story for Fernandez when a fairy god mother decided to come to her aid. According to a segment of the Univision show "El Gordo y La Flaca" from the beginning Mexican actress, Carmen Salinas has publicly claimed that Fernandez never poisoned anyone.
Salinas told the Huffington Post that in order to help prove Fernandez's innocence, she found and paid for a lawyer herself. In November, the former assistant was freed from jail after having spent two years and four months incarcerated following her sentencing on August of 2010.
According to Fernandez's lawyer, she was freed from all charges after he presented an appeal which demonstrated that the evidence presented by the Venezuelan actress was inconsistent, the Huffington Post reported.
The publication added that after being released from jail, Fernandez had to spend the night in the department of immigration. Fernandez is originally from Argentina and was in Mexico while employed by Spanic. After two years in jail, the young Argentinian was left without legal papers to live in the country. Salinas further confirmed that the lawyer is taking care the papers so that the Argentinian won't be deported.
With the help of Salinas and her lawyer, Fernandez is rebuilding her life and it is better than she ever imagined. According to TV Notas, Salinas has made Fernandez part of "Aventura," a play that has been on-going for 15 years, has traveled all of Mexico and part of the U.S., and Salina's herself helps to produce.
Furthermore, the new actress told Diario Basta that she is working on an autobiography that tells the story of her relationship with Spanic so that people "understand the whole story, because everything has a reason," she said. Fernandez added that she has received an offer from a producer in the U.S. to make her story into a movie.
There are rumors that state the possibility of Spanic being homosexual but the 26-year-old Fernandez told Diario Basta that she is not at freedom to discuss any details at the moment but when her lawyer gives her the green light she will tell it all.
