QuakeCon is turning 18 this year, and you can celebrate by attending the massive LAN party on August 1st through the 4th. The convention is North America's largest BYOC (Bring-Your-Own-Computer) LAN event, and will once again host thousands of PC gamers connecting their machines and playing some great games together.

QuakeCon will once again be returning to The Hilton Anatole in Dallas, Texas. If you'd like to get your travel arrangements settled early, you can make reservations by calling 1-800-Hiltons, 1-800-445-8667, or by heading online to the hotel's website. Make sure you grab your room through one of these options, as the hotel will be offering a special room rate if you mention you're attending QuakeCon.

In addition, the event will also host a competitive Quake Live tournament, as well as booths selling Bethesda merchandise and computer accessories. You can also expect both id Software and Bethesda representatives to be on hand to showcase their latest games and PC hardware.

As always, the event will be free and open to the public. In past years, attendance has varied from 2,000 to over 8,000 PC gaming aficionados. So get your travel plans together, pack up your rig, and head on down to the continent's biggest gamer party.

If you'd like to follow the event's coordinators as they get ready for the massive event, stay tuned on their Facebook and Twitter pages. Or, check out some planning tips and the event schedule at www.quakecon.org.

It's going to be a great time, I hope you can make it down!
