The New York Jets will most likely look to trade Tim Tebow before the new year for the league starts Mar. 12.
Gang green has been holding onto Tebow instead of releasing him hoping that they can find another team that will make a deal for the quarterback.
There have been a multitude of rumors circulating over the past few months, speculating about the possible locations where the orphaned signal caller might find a home in the NFL.
The Arizona Cardinals, Chicago Bears, Philadelphia Eagles and Jacksonville Jaguars were just some of the many possible suitors that hit the Tim Tebow rumor mill.
But now that some time has passed since the end of the season and Mar. 12 nears, some of the potential landing spots for Tebow seem to have been eliminated as possibilities.
For instance, Jacksonville Jaguars' new general manager David Caldwell rejected all rumors that Tebow may end up there in January.
"I can't imagine a scenario in which he'll be a Jacksonville Jaguar -- even if he's released," he said in a press conference.
But some football fans believe that despite Caldwell's remarks, Tebow could still be a viable fit for the Jaguars considering that Blaine Gabbert and Chad Henne had little to offer this past season.
And the Oakland Raiders have also been viewed as a possible home for Tebow because of Carson Palmer's $13 million base salary.
"There is no way Oakland is going to pay him [Palmer] that kind of money to stay, sources said, and Palmer will have to decide how much cash he's willing to walk away from to stay," CBS Sports NFL insider Jason La Canfora said earlier this month.
And perhaps the Tebow rumor that created the most buzz was when the quarterback was spotted working out alongside Olympic runners on a college track and speculation ensued as to whether he might end up with the Cardinals.
"They want Kevin Kolb to stick around but I think they have to look elsewhere," NBC Sports' Mike Florio said. "I actually heard at one point, that maybe, the Arizona Cardinals would be interested in Tim Tebow, that was last year."
"We'll see what happens this year, whether he's in the mix," he said. "But I'll tell you Tim Tebow is better than any of the guys they have on their roster."
Arizona quarterbacks were sack-attacked last season, finishing last season with 58 combined sacks.
It is still unclear where and in what capacity Tebow will find himself at the start of next season.
There have been some rumors, bordering on recommendations, that Tebow should look to switch positions if he wants to continue being a part of the NFL.
The Jets would most likely have to give up a mid-range draft pick or later for Tebow.
