Lexus debuted its IS250 and IS350 at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit this January, featuring the enhanced performance of the sports sedans as a key selling point for the new releases.

And the automaker guarantees the all-new IS models will produce a thrilling ride for anyone who finds themselves behind the wheel of the new sports sedans.

"I adopted an entirely different approach to the development of the all-new IS," chief engineer of the IS, Junichi Furuyama, said. "Specifically, it was to make an entertaining driving experience a major promise behind all aspects of performance."

The IS250 features a rear and all-weather drive renditions with a 2.5-liter six-cylinder engine, while a 3.5-liter six-cylinder engine powers the IS 350.

And to make the driving experience even more thrilling, the IS models feature the Drive Mode Select system where the driver can choose between driving modes of Eco, Normal, Sport and Sport S+. But the S+ will only be available on the F Sport model. Selecting different drive modes allows the driver to customize their driving experience based on fuel economy, comfort, performance and handling.

The rear-wheel drive eight-speed IS350 features the Sport Direct Shift automatic transmission from the high-performance model of IS F and allows for quicker shifting.

And the new IS models also feature a transformed exterior that gives the sports sedan a stronger presence on the road with wider wheel arches and a sweeping horizontal beltline.

The interior of the new sport sedan has undergone some transformations as well, including a more comfortable driver's seat, increased trunk space and the addition of three more inches of knee-space for rear-seat passengers.

According to the automaker's website, expect the all-new IS models to go on sale this summer (2013).
