Actress Luz Elena Gonzalez has confirmed her participation in the new telenovela "Libre Para Amarte."

Gonzalez will be the antagonist of the soap opera and will fight for the love of the male lead played by Gabriel Soto. She stated that she was happy to play the villain and that she was excited to work with Gloria Trevi who will play the female lead. She added that she knew Trevi personally but had never worked with her. 

During the press conference Gonzalez also spoke about her new children. She stated that she is very happy and that her children were very good.

Reporters also asked her about the marathon she ran a few weeks ago. Gonzalez was adamant about doing exercise because she had to lose 22 pounds after her pregnancy. Gonzalez said she runs every day and lifts weights.

The actress last starred in the hit novela "Una Familia con Suerte" with Mayrin Villanueva, Alicia Machado, Veronica Castro and Arath de la Torre. She also appeared in the award winning series "Hasta que El Dinero nos Separe" alongside Pedro Fernandez and Itai Cantoral.

"Libre Para Amarte" is currently in pre-production. The novela will also star Jaqueline Andere (Soy Tu Duena), Eduardo Santamarina (Por Ella Soy Eva), Consuelo Duval (la Familia Peluche), Jesus Ochoa (Get the Gringo), Coque Muniz and Pierre Angelo (Atrevete a Sonar).

The series based on the 2001 Colombian Soap Opera "Los Canarios" will be produced by Emilio Larrosa and will tell the story of a taxi driver and her adventure. The soap opera is set to air in Mexico on June 3rd.
