Owners of the latest Elder Scrolls video game, Skyrim, on the PlayStation 3 have had to wait quite some time, but are now in the midst of receiving three substantial pieces of DLC. Bethesda released Dragonborn last week, on Feb. 12, and will be following that up with Hearthfire tomorrow, Feb. 19 (Feb. 20 for those in Europe).
While Hearthfire doesn't add any incredibly exciting questlines to the game, it does offer a couple new experiences that any Skyrim dweller will find somewhat interesting. Players will be able to build a house on a plot of land that they design themselves. The customization options aren't exactly infinite, and most houses will end up having the same general layout, but it's nice to be able to have everything in one place. Oh, and let's not forget that players will be able to raise a family in Hearthfire - another touch of reality in an already-complex open world game.
The long wait for PlayStation 3 DLC had made many Skyrim fans a little angry, and it seems like Bethesda took them to heart - each of the three pieces of additional content are going to be marked down 50 percent in their first week in the PSN store, so if you're thinking of grabbing them, sooner is better than later.
Hearthfire will be followed by the last piece of DLC for the PlayStation 3 Dawnguard, on Feb. 26 (Feb. 27 for European gamers). The European release dates listed above only apply to the English versions of the game. Bethesda is still awaiting confirmation on when the French, Italian, German, and Spanish versions of the DLCs will become available.
Will you be picking up Hearthfire? Or are you more interested in Dawnguard, coming out next week?
