Manchester United will look to continue its stellar season when its takes on Reading in the 5th round of the FA Cup.
United is coming off a favorable 1-1 draw against Real Madrid in the first leg of the Champions League Round of 16. Danny Welbeck scored the crucial away goal in the 20th minute to give the team a 1-0 lead. Cristiano Ronaldo would eventually tie the game for Madrid, but Manchester's keeper David de Gea put up a stunning performance with seven saves.
"I threw myself at everything. They scored a good goal against me but it only beat me by the slightest margin," said De Gea after the win. The young keeper will need to continue his strong form when Manchester takes on Reading. Manchester's backup Andres Lindegaard conceded three goals in a 4-3 win for Untied the last time these two teams met on Dec. 1, 2012. In that game, Manchester got goals from Wayne Rooney, Robin Van Persie, and Anderson.
Van Persie will look to have a bounce back game after being smothered by the Madrid defense for most of the match. The Dutch superstar had a brilliant chance late in the tilt to give his team the lead, but a last second save from Xabi Alonso kept the score knotted at one.
Reading presents an interesting challenge for the Red Devils. The team sits in 18th place in the Premier league but drew against Chelsea three weeks ago and took down Sunderland on Feb. 2. In the FA Cup, the club defeated Crawley Town 3-1 and then dominated Sheffield United 4-0 on Jan. 26 in the 4th Round.
Predictions: Manchester Wins 2-0.
