Tim Tebow's commitment to Christianity and obsession with faith on and off the gridiron is well known and has led to his nickname "Sexy Jesus" and, of course, the act known as "Tebowing."
But now the Jets quarterback is taking his Jesus train to Texas where he is scheduled to speak at a controversial megachurch in Dallas, Texas.
First Baptist Dallas Church posted the event for a 9:15 a.m. worship service with special guest Tim Tebow on their website.
About 11,000 churchgoers are expected to attend the Sunday service.
The church, led by evangelical pastor Rev. Robert Jeffress, has been notorious for its extreme views on homosexuality, Catholics and Muslims as well as other major religions.
Just two years ago Jeffrey was cited saying that "70 percent of the gay population" is infected with AIDS, according to the New York Daily News.
But this wouldn't be the first time that the pious quarterback has been involved in some controversial displays surrounding his religious views.
Tebow appeared alongside his mother in a television commercial during the 2010 Super Bowl for the anti-abortion group Focus on the Family.
The advert created quite the buzz as Planned Parenthood and women's groups protested the commercial.
But the organization's spokesperson Gary Schneeberger defended the controversial act of mixing sports with religion.
"We will hear about shoving religion down people's throats," he told the Denver Post last year after the organization launched another television commercial during a Broncos-Patriots game. "But if it's OK to shove Doritos down people's throats, and cars and everything else, we have the right to advertise, too."
And while Tebow did not physically appear in the organization's ad last year, Schneeberger said that he was the inspiration for it.
CBS initiated a new policy of refusing ads that promote a political cause in the wake of the commercial controversy.
It is still unknown what Tebow will speak about at the megachurch event in April, but it is sure to stir up a lot of attention.
