It was recently revealed that Samsung has quite the lineup planned for the first half of 2013. Not ony will it be releasing its next flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S4, it will be launching a Galaxy S4 Mini variant alongside of it as well, which is looking like it will hit retail stores' shelves one month after the Galaxy S4 release in April.
The same Samsung-centric website that broke the story about the "Project J" lineup has released a new report stating that the Galaxy S4 Mini should come out in May. According to SamMobile's information, accessories for the Galaxy S4 Mini need to be done by week 21 of 2013, which is late May, and this could indicate that the actual handset will be released by then. The accessories in question are a clear cover, flip cover, and protective cover.
There's no information at the moment regarding the Galaxy S4 Mini at the moment, although it should follow the precedence set by the Galaxy S3 Mini. This means that (well, obviously) it will have a smaller form factor than the 5-inch Galaxy S4, and most likely sport some weaker specs than its high-end brother. Apple successfully strong-armed Samsung into not releasing the Galaxy S3 Mini in the United States, and it'll be interesting to see if this handset will ever make it Stateside.
The Galaxy S4 Mini could be announced alongside the Galaxy S4, which is expected to be revealed at an event in March and released in Asian and European markets in April. The United States and Australia should get the Galaxy S4 in May or June.
The Project J lineup was also revealed to contain a Samsung smartwatch, codenamed Altius, that could join the Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S4 Mini in stores.
What do you think of the Galaxy S4 Mini? Would you pick one up? Or would you prefer to purchase a high-end smartphone like the Galaxy S4?
