The Jackson Memorial Hospital has released photos of Ronald Poppo, the victim in the 'zombie' attack incident that occurred last May 26.

The pictures show a Poppo with a little less than half of his face gone, his eyes patched, and nose gone. Doctors saying that Poppo lost his left eye and hope he may still be able to have some vision (photo below, discretion advised).

They say that Poppo went through a series of skin-grafting surgeries since he arrived to the hospital on the day of the attack.

It was also the first press conference offered by the hospital since the attack during which doctors gave an update on Poppo's condition and state.

According to Gawker.com, doctors described Poppo as 'awake and alert' while Dr. Nicholas Namias who saw Poppo earlier Tuesday shared that Ronald had expressed the phrase, "Go Heat".

Overall, doctors say Mr. Poppo is responding "remarkably well" in the attack's aftermath and he will remain at the hospital for 'several more weeks'.

The pictures also display Poppo being assisted by nurses as he makes his way down the hospital hallway.

Poppo was believed to also have lost his ears, mouth, and teeth in the attack to Rudy Eugene, but the images show just the opposite.

ABC reports that doctors will consider proceeding with a facial transplant but it will utlimately be determined by Poppo.

A fundraising and donation campaign was launched on GiveForward to assist Poppo with medical bills and other expenses. For more info regarding donations, click here

The Jackson Memorial Foundation is also receiving donations to help Mr. Poppo. Support could be sent online at this website: https://www.jmf.org/take-action-now/donations/ (Under 'Other', write 'Ronald Poppo').
