The highly anticipating film “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” is set to resume filming in Hawaii later this month following the Oscars, lead actress Jennifer Lawrence confirmed during an interview at the Academy Awards Nominee Luncheon last week. Fellow “Catching Fire” cast member Sam Claflin also confirmed that he’d be heading back to Hawaii for resumed filming.

According to Examiner, although the film officially wrapped up filming in December, Lawrence, who plays Katniss Everdeen, and Liam Hemsworth (Gale Hawthorne) were reportedly spotted filming a scene in New Jersey late last month. The additional shooting in Hawaii is expected to occur over nine days.

British actor Sam Claflin, who plays District 4 tribute Finnick Odair, also confirmed that he would be heading to Hawaii for the reshoot. Claflin, a new addition to the series, opened up about the difference between the first film, “The Hunger Games,” and its sequel, “Catching Fire,” during an interview at the Collabor8te Film premiere in London.

“It’s a very different story. You know, there’s new characters, my character being one of them, a new director, so it’s going to be a very different outlook, you know?” the actor said. “A very different feel to it. I mean, I’ve not seen anything back so far so I’m excited about how it might turn out and I have faith in Francis and I’m sure it’ll be bigger and better than the last one.”

As for his character? Claflin said, "I mean for me, reading the book, I fell more and more in love with the character. Like, I auditioned without knowing anything about him, and getting the opportunity to talk it through with Francis [Lawrence] and Suzanne Collins. Finnick is a very complicated and complex character. Lots of ups, lots of downs."

The British actor continued, "His weapon of choice is a trident, which I'm not too overly familar with. I had to kind of train, stunt train, like three hours a day. On top of going to the gym, you know. It was a very hard shoot. The very physical side of shoots like that are the things I enjoy the most."

Claflin also shared some insight on working with Lawrence, who is currently nominated for the Best Actress Oscar for her work on “Silver Linings Playbook.” He said, “She’s a diamond. She is very hardworking and at the same time, she’s one girl who likes to have fun, you know. She’s very grounded and I think I can class her as a good friend.” Claflin added, “I’m excited to see her again actually, it’s been a while. To be able to congratulate her properly and officially face to face would be good.”

“The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” is set to hit theaters on November 22, 2013.
