Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 gamers on the PlayStation 3 and PC will be getting their Revolution DLC in a little over two weeks, on Feb. 28, Treyarch officially announced.
There had been rumblings of a Feb. 28 release date for Revolution, but this is the first time Treyarch has confirmed this.
"As the old saying goes, "the revolution will not be televised." Nonsense - it's not only on your TV screen, but it will be interactive, too. Revolution, the first DLC pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops II, arrives on PlayStation Network on February 28 - and there's more inside this collection than you may be expecting," reads the official PlayStation blog.
Treyarch's Twitter handle had this to say: "You asked and shall receive: #BO2Revolution arrives on 2/28 for PC/PS3."
Revolution will include four multiplayer maps as well as a brand new map and mode for zombie-mode lovers, and the first downloadable weapon in Call of Duty history - the short-to-mid-ranged Peacekeeper SMG.
Here are the descriptions of the four normal multiplayer maps straight from the PlayStation blog:
"Hydro: Located in Pakistan, this hydro-electric plant comes complete with a lethal spillway that floods with very little warning.
Grind: Set in a skate park in Venice Beach (the birthplace of skateboarding!), quarter-pipes and curved surfaces drive players away from easy cover and into intense firefights.
Downhill: A ski resort in the French Alps, this snowy map is complete with a moving gondola system that can both offer cover and crush you to death.
Mirage: Located in China's Gobi Desert, this luxury resort has been ravaged by a sandstorm."
Mirage will be the first Domination map to feature a triangular flag set up instead of a linear one, which means that team strategies should drastically change. The zombie map, Die Rise, takes place in a skyscraper in China and is accompanied by a new Zombie mode known as Turned. This mode will entail one human against up to three zombies, and whichever player can stay as the human the longest wins. Whichever zombie gets the human becomes the human themselves, and to make things a little tougher, the human's weapons get weaker as they survive for longer.
