Samsung's S Pen is definitely one of its more unique offerings, and while there were some rumblings that the peripheral might be included with the Galaxy S4, a new report out of Korea states that it's not happening. Instead, it seems that the touchless gesture system we wrote about earlier will grace the Galaxy S4.
The report comes to us from Korean news agency DDaily, via SamMobile, who states that there may have been some initial confusion between touchless gestures and the S Pen, leading some to believe the S Pen would be included in the Galaxy S4. The S Pen, however, will stick to the Note series of phablets and tablets.
The touchless gesture system is exactly how it sounds - users will be able to control their Galaxy S4 without actually touching the screen. DDaily was the first to report on this system, so bear in mind there aren't a lot of sources on this little bit of info. Samsung has not commented on the Galaxy S4, and likely won't until it is officially announced sometime next month.
Another rumor states that Galaxy S4 users will be able to scroll through pages using simply their eyes.
The Galaxy S4 is expected to be announced at a Samsung Mobile Unpacked event sometime in the middle of March, with an April release to follow. An unconfirmed report states that European and Asian markets will be the first to receive the handset in April. Other countries, like the United States and Australia, are supposed to follow in May and June.
The Galaxy S4 is rumored to have a 5-inch 1080p display, Samsung's new Exynos 5 Octa eight-core chipset, and 2GB RAM. It should also come equipped with a 13-megapixel rear-facing shooter and Android 4.2.2 at the time of its release.
