PlayStation 3 fans of Elder Scrolls Skyrim will finally be getting their first taste of the Dragonborn DLC in one day. Bethesda will be pushing out the content via PSN starting on Feb. 12, marking the first of three pieces of DLC that will release in February for PlayStation 3 Skyrim gamers.
Bethesda recognizes it has taken over two months since its Xbox 360 release for Dragonborn to hit the PlayStation 3, and is offering the add-on at a 50 percent discount during its first week on PSN. Dragonborn released for the PC earlier in the month, on Feb. 5.
Dragonborn takes place on the island of Solstheim, which was featured in the Bloodmoon expansion for Elder Scrolls Morrowind. Players will get to tame and ride dragons for the first time, and will come in contact with the first Dragonborn, Miraak. New weapons, armor and quests will be in abundance.
Bethesda will be following up the Dragonborn with two more add-ons for the PlayStation 3, Dawnguard, which fleshes out the story behind the war between vampires and humans, and Hearthfire, which gives players more customization over their housing. Dawnguard will hit PSN on Feb. 26, and Hearthfire will release one week earlier, on Feb. 19. Keep in mind the release dates listed above are for North America only. Both expansions will also be discounted in half during their first week out in the wild.
Technical difficulties have delayed the DLC releases, and even had Bethesda worried whether PlayStation owners would ever see some content.
"We have tried a number of things, but none of them solve the issue enough to make Dawnguard good for everyone," said a Bethesda representative a while ago. "This is not a problem we're positive we can solve, but we are working together with Sony to bring you this content."
