"Pokémon X" and "Pokémon Y" are eight months away but it shouldn't be enough to put attention away from the current fifth generation games.
Yes, even though the sixth generation games are set to be released in October, focus is still on "Pokémon Black and White" and its sequels "Pokémon Black 2" and "Pokémon White 2."
Starting March 4, Pokémon fans can participate in an event exclusively for North America and obtain the legendary Pokémon Meloetta.
Known as the Melody Pokémon, Meloetta is only available in the fifth generation games through an event and the U.S. and Canada will finally get its turn.
For those in the U.S., Meloetta will be distributed through GameStop stores from March 4 to March 24, however, Canadians will have to wait until March 4 before EB Games stores starts their distribution.
If the North American Meloetta event is the same as the latest Japanese distribution, then the Melody Pokémon is expected to be at level 15 with the moves Round, Quick Attack, and Confusion while holding the PP Max item.
The event for the Meloetta distribution will come almost two months following Nintendo's confirmation of the sixth generation games for the Nintendo 3DS. "Pokémon X" and "Pokémon Y" will feature three new starter and legendary Pokémon and help push the number of Pokémon of the entire franchise over 700.
