The Edmonton Oilers (4-2-1) will attempt to continue their hot start when they face off against the Colorado Avalanche (3-4-0) on Saturday afternoon. 

The Oilers are currently the second place team in the Northwest with 9 points. In their last game, the Oilers lost against the San Jose Sharks in the shootout. The Oilers fell behind 2-0 in the second but managed to tie the game and send it to overtime thanks to goals from Taylor Hall and Sam Gagner. In the shootout Michal Handzus and Dan Boyle scored for the Sharks while goalie Antti Niemi saved shots from Edmonton's Sam Gagner and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins.

The Colorado Avalanche are coming off a 6-3 win against Calgary.  The Avalanche started the match off losing, but managed to take over the game in the third period and scored three goals in the last three minutes of play. The game marked the team's first win away from home this season.

The match between Edmonton and Colorado is the second this year. During the first game Edmonton defeated Colorado 4-1 with goals from Ales Hemsky, Jordan Eberle, Nail Yakupov, and Shawn Horcoff. PA Parenteau scored the lone goal for Colorado. 

Predictions: Edmonton is playing with confidence while Colorado has been struggling to win games. Edmonton will win 3-2.
