Details of the new Mass Effect 3 DLC have leaked, after fans scoured the new BioWare patch for clues about upcoming features.
It looks like the new DLC, which is being called "the Reckoning," will have a major new multiplayer gameplay mode, according to data combed from BioWare's simple bug-fix. The multiplayer mode will use saved data from the choices made in your single-player campaign, including your reputation points, renegade/paragon rating, and your gameplay progress in general.
This could tie in the unique single-player choice-based character system and story with multiplayer, though there are no confirmed specifics about what the new gameplay mode is.
There are rumors, though. From Reddit, we have this post about the DLC. "The day of reckoning is nigh! The Reckoning Multiplayer Expansion brings six new never before seen co-op story missions to the game and new co-op gameplay modes. It provides four new maps to conquer and hazard variations of the Earth maps."
"It also enables reinforcement packs that offer new kits for the salarians, krogans, humans, and volus. In-game reinforcement packs now include three new weapons," said the Reddit post. Those weapons are rumored to be the Chakram Launcher, Blood Pack Punisher, and the Adas Anti-Synthetic Rifle, which are recent additions to the single-player campaign that were found in the BioWare patch.
BioWare has said it will make more details about the DLC available sometime in the middle of this month, and it has been teasing DLC packs for the one-year anniversary of Mass Effect 3 for a while. They've already begun working on Mass Effect 4, so the upcoming DLC may be the last update for the franchise until the next sequel is released.
