The Detroit Red Wings (3-2-1) will attempt to avenge their opening night debacle when they take on the St. Louis Blues (6-1-0) on Friday.

The Red Wings have had a slow start to their season with just three wins in six games. The Wings defeated the Columbus Blue Jackets and Minnesota Wild, but were shutdown in a 2-1 overtime loss to the Chicago Blackhawks. In their most recent win, the Wings outlasted the Dallas Stars in a 4-1 victory. Detroit got two goals from Valtteri Filppula and one each from Henrik Zetterburg and rookie Damien Brunner. Jimmy Howard made 26 saves in the win.
