Rumor has it, the HTC M7 will be hitting U.S. stores on March 8, after its unveiling on February 19 during press events in New York City and London.

Earlier this week, HTC sent out invitations to the press for an event which is rumored to be the launch of the M7. That's two weeks ahead of the Mobile World Congress, and while there's no confirmation that it will be the M7, it's reasonable to assume that, since the long-rumored M7 is HTC's most competitive new offering.

The blogosphere has been receiving leaks about the HTC flagship phone for a few weeks now, first with rumored internal specs, then with a rendered graphic, and followed a week later by an actual photograph and then a list of possible cellular carriers, including AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint.

Now HTCSource is reporting, from an anonymous source, that the HTC M7 will go on sale on March 8. Apparently industry reports have claimed HTC was working to produce 4 to 5 million M7 devices for the first quarter of 2013, and to start selling them early in order to gain a sales advantage on the competition.

A jump on the competition is exactly what HTC will have if this is true, because this means the M7 will be going on sale only about a week after the Mobile World Congress - the electronics showcase in Barcelona, Spain, where many companies are expected to unveil their devices - is over.

The M7 is expected to be HTC's new flagship phone, with a 1.7 GHz quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, 32GB of storage, and a 4.7-inch HD screen. It will likely have two cameras, a front-facing camera at 2 megapixels and a main camera at 13 megapixels. The phone is expected to run Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
