Christian Grey fan favorite Matt Bomer ('White Collar') has finally opened up about the all the rumors surrounding his possible involvement in the upcoming film adaptation of "50 Shades of Grey." This has been the first time Bomer has spoken out since casting rumors tied the actor to the highly coveted role.

In an interview with Metro UK, Bomer was asked to comment on the online campaign his fans had begun to get him cast in the role of the seductive millionaire Christian Grey. Bomer simply responded, "No comment. That's my line on that. But it's very flattering that I've got fans who would like to see me in things."

Bomer, who plays Neal Caffrey in the USA Network TV series 'White Collar,' has been a consistent fan favorite during Christian Grey polls. However, his popularity has seemed to wane in recent weeks to new favorite Henry Cavill ("Man of Steel") and fellow recurring favorite Ian Somerhalder ('The Vampire Diaries').

In the last fan poll conducted by Latinos Post, Bomer barely bested Somerhalder for the second spot with 404 votes (28.8 percent) and was closely behind Cavill, who took first place with 422 votes (30.08 percent). However, the 35-year-old continues to be among the most talked about contenders in fan comments.

Despite fans' continued interest in who will play their beloved lead character, casting decisions will take longer than expected. British author E.L. James and her production team, consisting of screenwriter Kelly Marcel and producers Mike De Luca and Dana Brunetti, have yet to choose a director, a crucial step in the casting process. Marcel has also not finished writing the script, which she has told reporters is also important to complete before actors are chosen.

The immensely popular and anticipated film has yet to establish a release date.
