On Monday, Vancouver Canucks (2-2-1) will face off against the Los Angele Kings (1-2-1).

The Canucks come off a disappointing fifth game with the San Jose Sharks. The team lost 4-1 with their only goal  coming from Alexandre Burrows. The match was dominated with penalties, fights and crushing hits as Ryane Clowe (Sharks) and Alexandre Burrows (Canucks) entering the penalty box before the game even starting. It was second loss of the year for the Canucks and Vancouver is currently tied for first place in the Northwest division with five points.

The Kings are coming off their first win of the season against the Phoenix Coyote which they beat 4-2. The first period saw no goals from either team but in the second period Anze Kopitar scored at 1:04 and added a second just a little over four minutes later to give the Kings a 2-1 lead.  Jeff Carter and Jake Muzzin also scored for LA. The Kings now are now in fourth place in the Pacific division with three points.

Monday's game marks the first encounter of the season between the Canucks and the Kings. Last season the two teams split the four game series. More importantly Los Angeles eliminated Vancouver last season in the first round of the Stanley Cups playoffs four games to games.

Predictions: The Los Angeles Kings got off to a slow start. They have only scored eight goals and have given up 12. Vancouver has also been sloppy scoring 14 but given up 16. Either team can win this game but LA has the momentum after winning Saturday Night.
