The SAG awards were presented on Jan. 27th but rather than the glamour and awards dominating the night, illnesses seemed to permeate throughout.
Several stars showed up sick to the red carpet while others were unable to make it. Jennifer Lawrence, who failed to show up at the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television awards on Saturday night walked the red carpet, with pnemonia. However she told Giuliana Rancic host of E!. "I have walking pneumonia; it's highly contagious. But I'm Good." The actress later won the Best Actress award for "Silver Linings Playbook."
Best Actress nominee Marion Cotillard (Rust and Bone) showed up on the red carpet with the Flu. She told Rancic "Don't touch me; I'm so sick."
Tommy Lee Jones failed to show up due to illness. The actor went on to win the first award of the night for Best Supporting Actor in "Lincoln" and the SAG organization accepted the award on his behalf.
"Les Miserables" star Isabelle Allen was supposed to arrive on red carpet but on her way to the ceremony she got nauseous and was sent home.
Also missing were Mary Tyler Moor and Carl Reiner who were expected to present Dick Van Dyke with his Lifetime Achievement award. However the two actors were also sick. Van Dyke stated during his acceptance speech "I have to say one thing, my lord and savior Carl Reiner couldn't be here tonight," and "There's a lot of flu going around."
