Samsung Galaxy S2 handsets are finally receiving the love they've been craving. Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is currently being rolled out to the popular smartphone around the world, and those on T-Mobile's network are getting their own non-Jelly Bean update as we speak.
It was only a couple days ago that we got the first reports of Jelly Bean hitting Galaxy S2s in Spain, and now it seems like one more country is a lucky recepient of the update.
According to website SamMobile, which is keeping an updated list of different countries and whether or not Jelly Bean has released in that region, the Android 4.1 upgrade is being rolled out for unlocked Galaxy S2s in China and for Galaxy S2s on China Mobile. The only other country it lists as having the Galaxy S2 Jelly Bean update so far is Spain.
A number of reports claim that the Galaxy S2 Jelly Bean update is live in other countries, but there seems to be some confusion as to the validity of the claims. Website KnowYourMobile reported that it had received a tip from reader that the United Kingdom was receiving Jelly Bean, but an update to the article reveals that the reader merely grabbed the Spanish version, which requires a rooted Galaxy S2 to work on.
T-Mobile Galaxy S2 owners here in the United States have something to get excited about, although its not a Jelly Bean update. The carrier is in the process of pushing out a small Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.4 update weighing in at around 11MB. It's currently available through Samsung KIES, and Samsung stated that the OTA rollout should start Feb. 7. The update fixes bugs, brings security enhancements, and improves S Voice.
Let us know if you've grabbed either one of these updates for the Galaxy S2, where you are located, and what you think of it.
