Singer Gloria Trevi has confirmed her participation in the new telenovela "Libre Para Amarte."
Trevi told reporters that she was very happy with the new project because her role depicts her as she was in the 90's. She thanked producer Emilio Larrosa for the opportunity and stated that she has a lot to learn but believes that it is always great to experiment and try new things.
Trevi also revealed that she will play a taxi driver named Aurora and that she was able to pick the name of the character. She chose Aurora because it was her great grandmother's name. Additionally she stated that she believed the name would help her character.
The telenovela will star Gabriel Soto (Un Refugio Para El Amor), and Eduardo Santamarina (Por Ella Soy Eva), who Trevi revealed she is excited to work with.
In order to prepare for the role, her husband Armando Lozano taught her to drive because she had never learned to do so. Trevi also told reporters that she will sing the main theme for the telenovela. The singer also stated that she will record the song "Aurora" which she sang with Veronica Castro many years ago.
"Libre Para Amarte" will start production in the coming months.
