Donations for Ronald Poppo, victim of the recent face-eating, 'cannibalistic' attack during Memorial Day weekend, are being accepted at the following website: Giveforward.com/ronaldpopporecovery

Ronald Poppo, a homeless man known to live in the streets of Miami for three decades could receive all the help he can since not only is he in critical condition at Jackson Memorial Hospital but has had his face torn away, specifically his mouth, nose, eyes and ears.

The aggressor, Rudy Eugene, was caught tearing Poppo's face away in one of Miami's busiest highway last Saturday. He was shot dead after being warned by cops to stop attacking Poppo's face but refused to listen.

Police President Armando Aguilar told CNN that Eugene growled like a wild animal and kept chewing Poppo's face when an officer had approached him to stop and pointed a gun at him.

The media news agency reports that Aguilar suspects that 31-year-old aggressor, Eugene, was under the effects of "bath salts" which provokes people to become insane and very aggressive.

The unprovoked attack on the homeless man is one tragic happening with Sgt. Javier Ortiz describing it with, "It was not only grotesque, it was just very sad, the amount of blood. It was very sad to see what happened to this gentleman that had his face eaten," according to the Associated Press.

The zombie-styled attack was carried out by a man his ex-wife, Jenny Ductant, described to WPLG-TV as "somewhat paranoid, but not really mentally ill."

The motives behind the attack are not clear and according to the police, stimulants or other types of drugs may have played a role in the attack.

The donation site launched for Ronald Poppo's recovery states:

"For Ronald Poppo, the victim of the gruesome "zombie" attack in Miami. He has experienced savagery, let him now experience humanity."

The organizer is Fredo Gonzalez and the fundraiser ends on August 31, 2012.
