Novak Djokovic will face fifth-seeded Tomas Berdych in the 2013 Australian Open Quarterfinals on Tuesday at 7:30 am EST. In the previous round, Djokovic dispatched of Stanislas Wawrinka, but it took five sets and five hours to do so. Djokovic won 1-6, 7-5, 6-4, 7-6, 12-10 in his fifth match of the tournament on Sunday. It was the first of his matches this year to last more than three sets.
The Serbian superstar has won three Australian Open tournaments, including each of the last two. His last pair of Aussie Open defeats came in the quarterfinals though, once in 2009 against Andy Roddick, and more recently in 2010 versus Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.
Djokovic will team up with Pete Sampras to play a doubles exhibition match against Bob and Mike Bryan on March 4 at the Los Angeles Tennis Challenge. The event will be on the campus of the University of California- Los Angeles, with all of its proceeds benefitting five charities, including Djokovic's. (He is a Serbian representative of UNICEF.) In addition to playing with his childhood idol, ESPN reports Djokovic will play a singles match against Mardy Fish.
The women's singles final will be on Sunday, Jan. 27 at 7:30 am EST. The men's final will be the last match of the tournament at 7:30 am EST on Monday, Jan. 28. This is the full schedule of the 2013 Australian Open.
The women's doubles final takes place on Saturday, Jan. 26 not before 4:00 am. The men's doubles final will be after the women's singles final. The mixed doubles final will be at 4:00 am EST on Monday, Jan. 28.

Roger Federer will not participate in Switzerland's Davis Cup match against the defending champion, the Czech Republic next month, ESPN reports. The Czechs are expected to be led by two of Djokovic's Australian Open opponents: Berdych and Radek Stepanek. The first week of Davis Cup action (when the match would be played) is one week after the end of the Australian Open.
