Poor Sasha Obama. It's tough to be an 11-year-old when the whole world is watching.
The First Daughter (Second Daughter? She's the younger sibling) let out an impressive yawn during her father's inaugural address on Monday, just when he was talking about teachers.
"The yawn came after this line in President Obama's speech: 'No single person can train all the math and science teachers we'll need to equip our children for the future, or build the roads and networks and research labs that will bring new jobs and businesses to our shores. Now, more than ever, we must do these things together, as one nation, and one people,'" writes The Atlantic.
During the applause after the line, the camera cut to Obama's family. Sasha lets loose a tired yawn, but she's a trooper. She continues clapping all the way through.
Still, it's easy to forgive her.
"Now mind you, Sasha is 11 years old, and she's already had a busy morning. Before all this pomp and circumstance the First Family went to church, and getting ready for today's stylish festivities probably wasn't the same as rolling out of bed to go to school," writes The Atlantic.
Still, Sasha is developing a reputation. She fell asleep during the 2008 Democratic National Convention, but since she was 7 at the time, it's forgivable.
"Sasha knows how to make news, that's for sure. On Sunday, when Obama was officially sworn in, she congratulated him by saying, 'Good job, Dad. You didn't mess up,'" writes USA Today.
She was referencing the 2009 inauguration, when Chief Justice John Roberts misquoted the oath of office, causing Obama to stumble in his recitation.
