"Pikmin 3" has been delayed once again, according to a number of reports.
Crave Online suggests that the highly anticipated Wii U title will no longer launch in March 2013, but will be released in the "first half" of the year. The sequel in the popular franchise was originally slated as a launch title for the console, but was later pushed back into Wii U's 'launch window.' Nintendo defined the launch window as the period between the console's release (November 20) and March 31, 2013. However, a new press release that details the shipping date for several new titles briefly mentions that Dr. Olimar's next adventure would not be available until after that window closes.
Nintendo has a penchant for delaying major first party titles and "Pikmin 3," which has been in development since 2008, is the latest title to be subjected to a similar fate. "The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess" was originally planned for a 2005 release, but did not launch until November 2006. "Super Smash Bros. Brawl" was expected for a 2007 December release date, and was eventually delayed until March 2008.
Other titles pushed back from their original launch window status include "The Wonderful 101," "Wii U Fit," and "Game & Wario."
