Pokémon's next generation Nintendo games have fans buzzing but unfortunately have to wait nine months before picking their new starter Pokémon.
"Pokémon X" and "Pokémon Y" have been confirmed for an October 2013 date, but no specific day has been set.
While fans can start pre-ordering either Pokémon games on GameStop, the site does list an Oct. 31 release date.
How true is this?
Latinos Post did contact GameStop's Larine Nixon, responsible for their video game and mobile electronics media inquiries, in regards to the sixth generation's release date.
According to Nixon, the Oct. 31 date is only a placeholder, therefore it is not the official release date.
Is it possible the game can be released on Oct. 31?
That's something the folks from Nintendo and The Pokémon Company International will have to discuss with distributors.
"Pokémon X" and "Pokémon Y" will be the franchise's first 3D game following the main series. According to The Pokémon Company CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara, the October 2013 release date will be simultaneous across Australia, Europe, Japan, and North America.
"The worldwide launch of 'Pokémon X' and 'Pokémon Y' this October allows players to begin their adventures at the same time," said Ishihara. "Now, Pokémon fans across the globe can discover the secrets of Pokémon games and can collect, battle, and trade with each other immediately."
The new games will feature three new starter Pokémon and two legendary Pokémon, but more are expected to be released.
