Mrs Obama "Spotifies" like you and me.

To mark the fourth annual celebration of United Nation's International Day of the Girl, First Lady of the US (FLOTUS) Michelle Obama created a special playlist on popular music streaming site, Spotify. The playlist was released last October 11 and appeared to include "girl-power anthems" to promote gender inequality awareness in the world, as told by TIME.

According to the Daily Mail, Mrs Obama is taking efforts to spread the word on her current campaign, "Let Girls Learn" which seeks to expand education access for 62 million girls across the globe. Her campaign also encourages girls in the US to take advantage of opportunities that come their way.

Her 20-track playlist is dominated by female artists (18) featuring famous singers such as Beyonce Michelle Obama has released a female-artist-packed 'girl power' playlist of her favorite songs - featuring the likes of Beyonce, Alicia Keys, and Demi Lovato, according to Daily Mail.

Demi Lovato, whose song was one of the twenty the First Lady recommended, took to Twitter to express her delight: "@FLOTUS thank you so much for choosing #confident to be on your girl-empowering playlist!!!!" Lovato writes, as cited by E Online.

Some may recall Mrs Obama sharing her favorite songs in an interview back in 2012: "My iPod is so eclectic. It's everything from Elle Varner, which Malia turned me onto...so I got a few songs of her; Alicia Keyes," she says, as per E Online. "I just got done listening to 'Blackbird' by Paul McCartney, one of my favorites. My iPod is full of songs that I love. I rarely put albums on, but if I hear a song that really moves me I put it on there and play it again, and again, and again."

Between the four members of the US First Family Michelle was the second to share her Spotify playlist in public. The Daily Mail reports that last summer, POTUS Barack Obama gave the public a glimpse of his "normal" life when he released a collection of his choice tracks on Spotify while he was on a vacation at Martha's vineyard. His playlist included the likes of Justin Timberlake, Stevie Wonder, Bob Dylan, Mary J. Blige, Frank Sinatra and Lauryn Hill, according to the same report.

He said, as per Daily Mail: "My iPod now has about 2,000 songs, and it is a source of great pleasure to me. I am probably still more heavily weighted toward the music of my childhood than I am the new stuff."
