Super Smash Bros 4 is one of the top games that gamers are looking forward to the most in 2014, and the Wii U and 3DS versions of the game will be hot commodities whenever they appear on store shelves. While the Super Smash Bros series has a wealth of strong characters that fans continuously use, there are some characters that just do not have the staying power as Link, Mario, and Jigglypuff. So we bring you the top 5 Super Smash Bros characters we think should be retired.

5. Wolf- Wolf would be a good character to have in Super Smash Bros, if it was not for the fact that Fox and Falco were already in the game.  Unless he gets to differentiate himself from the other Star Fox characters, like giving him a special that the two other Star Fox characters do not share. It would be better if a different character took his spot to add more variety to the game.

4. Pokémon Trainer- While there is nothing wrong with the Pokémon the character uses, the presentation of the character is all wrong. By choosing Pokémon Trainer, you're actually picking the three Pokémon, not the man behind them. Having him stand awkwardly in the background gesturing on occasion does not exactly make him memorable. Simply make the three Pokémon characters and get rid of the trainer.

3. R.O.B- This little annoying robot has to go. Why not have a Power Glove or Virtual Boy take his place instead? They were equally useless devices Nintendo pawned off on children during their heyday, and would probably play better than the clunky R.O.B

2. Toon Link- First we had young Link, then Toon Link, what's next, Philips CD-i Link? There really only needs to be one version of Link in the game, and if they really want to add different versions of Link in the game, why not throw in the one from Majora's Mask? This way, the player could put on different masks and transform and mix it up a bit.

1. Mr. Game & Watch- This character is pretty well entrenched in the franchise, but who gets excited when they find out they can play as the 2D blob of pixels? I could see the character as a trophy, but not as a full player, not when there are so many other characters that could fill that slot on the roster.
